Megan & Justin Put on a Couple's Clinic
Some couples just get it
Megan & Justin certainly made a lasting impression on me last year at the historic and elegant NYIT de Seversky Mansion estate. From the time I learned about their long-term & long-distance relationship, I knew they were a couple ready to celebrate the next chapter in their lives.
We were only part of their wedding reception, so unfortunately, we missed those amazing vows and traditional Korean PaeBaek Ceremony (패백). What we didn’t miss was one of my favorite celebrations of 2021.
Here are two of the many things that stand out to me from that special day last May. Time to take notes, people.
Their surprise first dance performance routine
Megan & Justin weren’t shy about putting on a show for their guests, who had no idea what was about to hit them. We worked together to get the music edited down perfect for their dance lessons, but I was in the dark as to how it would unfold in the moment. Even before their finishing move (above) the room exploded and it was the perfect way to kick off the dance party that did… not… stop. What a way to kick off a proper celebration!
They had unfiltered fun!
Megan & Justin led the charge with just how much fun they wanted their guests to have by having fun themselves. What did that look like? Megan brought a fresh new pair of Keds for the dance floor (proof below) and I definitely recall Justin wiping sweat off his brow. I love it when a couple leans into the celebration. That energy directly translates to guests having a blast and after the vows, that’s always the main goal.
